The 2026 World Congress on Pain will offer four Cadaver Workshop courses on 26 October during the Pre-Congress Day. Like all Pre-Congress events, Cadaver Workshops require additional registration to attend.

These Workshops are an educational collaboration between the Thai Association for the Study of Pain (TASP), Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP).

Off-Site Venue: Chulalongkorn Surgical Training Center, 4th Floor Padtayapatana Building, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand

Workshop directors: Nantthasorn Zinboonyahgoon, Pornpan Chalermkitpanit

Cadaver Workshops Overview

The workshops will provide practical training in interventional pain management and neuromodulation techniques under the guidance of international and Thai experts.

Through direct anatomical practice using C-arm and ultrasound guidance, participants will gain a deeper understanding of pain mechanisms, procedural anatomy, and safe interventional techniques.

This cadaveric hands-on experience will help clinicians connect anatomical knowledge with potential pain-generating mechanisms, visualize target structures, and improve procedural confidence and safety.

In addition to the cadaveric workshop, the program will also feature a complimentary simulation station designed to strengthen hands-on skills in advanced pain interventions. This simulation area will allow participants to practice key techniques in a controlled, high-fidelity environment, including spinal cord stimulation (SCS) lead placement and troubleshooting. The simulation station will run in parallel with the cadaveric sessions to maximize exposure and skill acquisition, ensuring that all participants are able to access comprehensive training at their own pace.

The courses are open to physicians and healthcare professionals who want to:

  • Deepen their understanding of pain anatomy and image-guided procedures;

  • Broaden their knowledge of interventional and neuromodulation treatment options;

  • Strengthen decision-making for patient management and referral;

  • Explore opportunities for research or future specialization in pain medicine.

Participants may register for one course in the morning and one course in the afternoon. Each course is independent and self-contained.
