Pain: Sensation, Perception, Cognition, and Management
8:30-17:30, 25 Oct. 2026
This symposium, which is a collaboration between the IASP and CASP, has been proposed and organized by Prof. Xue-Jun Song, MD, PhD, who is a member of the Scientific Program Committee for the IASP 2026 World Congress of Pain and the Director of the China Chapter of the IASP.
The IASP-CASP symposium, Pain: Sensation, Perception, Cognition, and Management, will take place from 08:30 to 17:30 on 25 October 2026. The lectures at the symposium will cover sensation, perception, cognition, and the diagnosis and clinical management of acute and various chronic pain. The speakers have backgrounds in neuroscience, pain medicine, anaesthesia, physical therapy, and Chinese traditional medicine. Most speakers are medical doctors and physician-scientists from more than 20 well-known medical schools and hospitals across mainland China. Each speaker will give a short talk lasting about 15–18 minutes, followed by one or two quick questions. The symposium language is English.
The symposium welcomes all IASP congress attendees to participate, and coffee breaks and a complimentary lunch will be provided. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our experiences at the symposium.
