IASP will host Pre-Congress events on 26 October for the 2026 World Congress on Pain in Bangkok, Thailand. All Pre-Congress Events require additional registration to attend. 

SIG Symposia

 

Special Interest Group (SIG) Symposia provide attendees with in-depth and multidisciplinary presentations and discussions on a single, specific research or educational topic in the pain field. Each session is approximately 4 hours. All Pre-Congress events require additional registration to attend.

Hands-On Workshops

 

Hands-On Workshops provide attendees with opportunities to practice the latest methods and gain hands-on experience to better understand and apply the techniques learned to their working practice. These workshops are approximately 4 hours in length and can typically be divided into four (or more) stations, each led by a faculty expert. Attendees rotate in groups through the stations and interact with apparatus, devices, and equipment in order to practice new methods. All Pre-Congress events require additional registration to attend.

Painhack

 

The IASP Early Career Network (ECN) will launch IASP’s first Painhack, taking place 25 - 26 October at the 2026 World Congress on Pain in Bangkok, Thailand. Painhack is a hackathon-based event that will foster interdisciplinary collaborations and push the boundaries in pain research and management. The Painhack will bring together diverse perspectives from scientists of any background, clinicians, and persons with lived experience.

Cadaver Workshops

 

Cadaver Workshops provide attendees from diverse multidisciplinary backgrounds with hands-on experience in understanding the intricate aspects of how various technologies are implanted, utilized, and function within the human body. Labs are scheduled in morning and evening blocks, each lasting approximately 4 hours. All Pre-Congress events require additional registration to attend.
