IASP does not encourage or recommend bringing children to the World Congress on Pain. Attendees are strongly encouraged to make alternative childcare arrangements while attending, speaking, or presenting at the World Congress.

However, if you are unable to secure childcare and must bring a child, the following steps are required in advance of the World Congress:

  1. Complete the Accompanying Child Form for each accompanying child.

  2. Review and sign the required legal waiver for each accompanying child.

Accompanying Child Form  Liability Waiver

Please Note:

  • Parents or guardians retain full responsibility for the care, supervision, and safety of their child always, including during travel to and from the World Congress and while on-site.

  • Children must remain under the continuous, direct supervision of their parent or guardian for the entirety of the event.

  • Attendance at the World Congress involves inherent risks, including those that may arise from the actions or negligence of others; by bringing a child, the parent or guardian acknowledges and assumes these risks on behalf of themselves and the child.

  • IASP does not provide childcare services, supervision, or medical or financial assistance; parents or guardians are solely responsible for any medical care, expenses, or other needs that may arise.

  • By signing the waiver, the parent or guardian agrees to release IASP and its affiliates from liability for injury, illness, property damage, or other claims arising from participation in the event.
