Regional Difference in Clinical Profiles, Treatment and Outcomes of Migraine

Dr. Shuu-Jiun Wang is a practicing neurologist and the Chair Professor and Dean of College of Medicine, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taipei, Taiwan. He is also currently the Vice Superintendent of Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He was the President of Taiwan Neurological Society from 2017 to 2019, the founding President of the Taiwan Headache Society from 2005 to 2011 and the Chair of the Asian Regional Consortium of Headache (ARCH) from 2019 to 2021.
Dr. Wang is the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of the Chinese Medical Association and also serves as an associate editor of the journals Cephalalgia, Journal of Headache and Pain and others. Dr. Wang was awarded the Bruce S. Schoenberg's International Neuroepidemiology Award by the American Academy of Neurology in 1994, the Seymour Solomon Lecture Award by the American Headache Society in 2010, the G. Nappi Cluster Headache Award by the European Headache Society, 5th European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) in 2016, the MacDonald-Critchley Lecture Award by the Migraine Trust Virtual Symposium in 2020 and the IHS Special Lecture Award by the International Headache Society in 2025.
Dr. Wang is interested in clinical and neuroimaging research of headache disorders. He has authored more than 600 scientific papers.

Prof. Tsubasa Takizawa is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Neurology, Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. He is a neurologist, headache specialist, and researcher.

Prof. Takizawa obtained his M.D. in 2010 at the Keio University School of Medicine. He joined the Department of Neurology, Keio University School of Medicine in 2012. He worked as a research fellow at the Neurovascular Research Lab, Massachusetts General Hospital, USA (PI: Prof. Cenk Ayata) from 2016 to 2018.

Since 2020, he has served as the Principal Investigator of the Headache Group at Keio University, leading both basic and clinical research. His research focuses on migraine triggers, real-world evidence of therapeutic interventions, and cortical spreading depolarization. He actively engages in international collaborations.

Dr. Wanakorn Rattanawong is a neurologist, headache specialist, and medical educator based in Bangkok, Thailand. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from Chulalongkorn University and completed specialist training through the Thai Board of Neurology. He has undertaken advanced training in neurology and headache medicine at King’s College London and the International Headache Society (IHS) Headache Master School.

Dr. Rattanawong currently serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Assistant Dean for Research Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand. He practices as a neurologist at King Mongkut’s Chaokhunthaharn Hospital and Bumrungrad International Hospital. He is Chair of Research of the Thai Headache Society, where he leads initiatives in headache research, education, and guideline development.

Internationally, he serves on the International Headache Society Medication-Overuse Headache Guideline Working Group and is a member of the Editorial Boards of Cephalalgia and Cephalalgia Reports. He also serves as Graphical Abstract Editor for Cephalalgia Reports.

His research focuses on migraine, medication-overuse headache, and translational headache science. He has published extensively on migraine chronification, CGRP-targeted therapies, and healthcare disparities in headache management. Through his clinical, academic, and research activities, Dr. Rattanawong is committed to advancing headache medicine and improving access to evidence-based neurological care throughout Southeast Asia.
