585: Effects of Self-Efficacy Intervention on Recovery and Quality of Life After Knee Arthroscopy
Topic: Education, Societal Impact, and Others
Subtopic: Education
Background and Aims: To explore the effects of a systematic self-efficacy intervention on rehabilitation adherence, joint function, activities of daily living, and quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis after knee arthroscopy, and to provide evidence-based support for optimizing postoperative rehabilitation management.
Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted. Eighty patients with knee osteoarthritis who underwent knee arthroscopy in our hospital between June 2023 and June 2024 were enrolled and randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group. The control group received routine rehabilitation training and health education, while the intervention group received an additional 12-week systematic self-efficacy intervention, including preoperative education, staged goal setting, rehabilitation diaries, peer motivation, and multidisciplinary guidance. Outcome measures included the Visual Analog Scale, Lysholm score, Modified Barthel Index, General Self-Efficacy Scale, which were assessed at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months postoperatively.
Results: It is expected that the intervention group will demonstrate significantly higher Lysholm, MBI, GSES, and SF-36 scores at 1 and 3 months after surgery compared with the control group, along with lower VAS scores. Rehabilitation adherence, exercise frequency, and patient satisfaction are also expected to improve significantly.
Conclusions: Systematic self-efficacy intervention can significantly enhance rehabilitation adherence and self-management ability in patients following knee arthroscopy, thereby promoting functional recovery and improving quality of life. Its application is recommended in postoperative rehabilitation pathways.
