Regional difference in clinical profiles, treatment and outcomes of migraine

Migraine is a highly prevalent neurological disorder with substantial heterogeneity in its clinical presentation, comorbidities, triggers, and treatment outcomes across different regions of the world. Cultural factors, environmental exposures, healthcare systems, and genetic backgrounds may contribute to these regional differences, yet they remain underexplored in global migraine research.

This workshop aims to highlight regional variations in migraine through regional perspectives focusing on clinical characteristics, common comorbidities, environmental and lifestyle triggers, and the neurobiological mechanisms underlying migraine progression. The session will begin with an overview of migraine diagnosis and comorbidities and their impacts towards management. This will be followed by a discussion of how migraine triggers may vary across populations and environments. Finally, the workshop will address the neurobiology of migraine progression and how differences in treatment access and management strategies may influence disease outcomes.
